Shipbuilding begins in Sliedrecht by the Schlieker family. In 2007, the 1,000th vessel is built, an achievement celebrated extensively.
2008
Paul Wester establishes Wester Naval Architecture, a company that has been delivering high-quality solutions in yacht and shipbuilding since 2008. With a background in naval architecture and extensive experience in design, engineering, and project management, Wester brings comprehensive expertise to every project.

2025
After years of dedication, Paul steps down as the owner of our company. Following a successful and intensive three-year transition process, ownership has been transferred to Hans Slieker and Rob Boer. Over the past year, Paul has already taken on a more background role, and starting in 2025, he will remain involved as an advisor.
From this point forward, Schlieker Shipyard will also cease its shipbuilding activities. Schlieker will fully focus on ship engineering and join forces with Wester Naval Architecture.
