Design &
engineering
Wester Naval Architecture is highly specialized in the field of design through involvement in the rebuilding of old existing designs of classic sailing yachts: wonderful projects where the passion for classic yachts prevails such as the rebuilding or restoration of Endeavour I, Eleonora, Atlantic, Elena and design number A347 of John Alden.
In the field of Engineering the experience of Wester Naval Architecture is very broad: from (wooden) fishing vessels, large LPG tankers, a 4 m long hand-operated foot ferry, high-speed patrol vessels, motor yachts to 3-masted schooners and luxury yachts.
Marine engineering
calculations
Wester Naval Architecture is capable of performing various calculations. Think for example of hydrostatic calculations, stability calculations (including leak stability), resistance and propulsion, class calculations such as Lloyd's Register, RINA, Bureau Veritas and Germanischer Lloyd's, rudder and steering gear calculations, weight and center of gravity calculations.
In addition to cooperation with the aforementioned classification societies, we also work closely with various government agencies in the field of shipbuilding and shipping, including ILT (Inspectorate for the Environment and Transport), MCA (Maritime and Coastguard Agency) and SUK (Schiff Untersuchungs Kommission).
Building kits
At Wester Naval Architecture, we have a broad experience in designing and producing building kits in both steel and aluminum. Whether it is large or small yachts and ships, we have the knowledge, expertise and capacity to successfully realize your project.
Our team specializes in the entire process from drawing to actual production of the cutting packages. We provide production strips, detailing, outlines, nestings and fire sketches and make the cutting codes. We can also take care of the work preparation of profiles so that they can be prepared separately. Also, if required, we can take care of purchasing the material, cutting and forming.
Thanks to our 3D models, we can properly identify any problems prior to the actual construction and solve them (in consultation) so that the construction process runs smoothly and without delays. Fitting of parts is no longer a problem.
By means of good markings and texts on the parts, and well thought-out reports (parts lists, exploded views, 3D files with metadata), the logistical processes at cutting companies, forming companies and, of course, on the shop floor are also further supported.
At Wester Naval Architecture, we always strive for the highest quality and customer satisfaction. We work on every project with passion and dedication and are not satisfied until you are.
Would you like to know more about our construction kits and how we can help you with your ship or yacht building project? Then feel free to contact us and we will be happy to tell you more about our services.
Unburdening, the job
of WNA
At Wester Naval Architecture, our goal is to unburden the workshop as much as possible. Avoiding questions and problems is our top priority. During construction, we prefer to "hear nothing from you": then things run smoothly.
We carefully check all files received by architects and create a 3D construction model from the information supplied, into which we incorporate the builder's wishes and building plan. This allows us to solve and manage issues before they cause problems in the workshop. We do this as much as possible in close consultation with all those involved so that no one is confronted with (unwanted) surprises.
We provide section divisions, results and working and production drawings so that the workshop has all the information it needs to build the yacht or ship. The result is a satisfied builder who receives a perfect construction package.
CAD / CAM
advice
Would you rather keep CAD/CAM work in-house and not outsource it? Of course you can.
Wester Naval Architecture offers CAD/CAM consulting and automation projects for shipbuilders and yacht builders. We have years of experience in developing and implementing CAD/CAM software solutions in the shipbuilding industry.
Our CAD/CAM consulting and automation projects are aimed at increasing productivity, reducing costs and improving the quality of CAD/CAM work. We offer a practical approach and with experience both in engineering and in the workshop, we are able to empathize with your situation, and give appropriate advice.
We work with several software packages, AutoCAD, ShipConstructor, Rhino and Navisworks, and can help you make the right choice for your business. Feel free to contact us for more information about our CAD/CAM consulting and automation projects.
